Germany visa requirements

Japanese nationals can visit Germany for up to three months without a visa but there is no work visa or permit restrictions in Germany for voluntary work.

Non EU nationals wishing to live and work in Germany must apply for a work permit and residence permit but a Working Holiday Visa is available.

If you intend to visit Germany, on holiday, a business trip, to study, work, volunteer or as an emigrant you should get up to date and accurate information from the official website of the German Foreign Office
